Lionel Messi Has PSG Rolling In Revenue Since His Arrival

There was no doubt that when Lionel Messi went to Paris Saint-Germain, the advertising dollars would come with him to the French capital. Although his on-field performance presented a mixed bag, he did generate a lot of revenue away from it.

According to Marca, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi stated to the Spanish publication that Messi’s arrival helped the capital club generate €700 million in his first season.

With the renewal of Kylian Mbappe, who shares image rights with the club, the objective now is to improve income for all these concepts further.

Messi’s arrival brought ten new sponsorship contracts. As the director of this area of the club, Marc Armstrong also commented that in addition to luring new sponsors, the agreements that the two parties signed were much higher with the 35-year-old’s presence.

“We have surely seen a growth in areas where we could reach agreements of between €3 and €5 million, and now they are between €5 and €8, so the impact is considerable,” Armstrong said.

It is calculated that income from the arrival of Messi has grown by 13%, and brands such as Dior, Gorillas, Crypto.com, Autohero, GOAT, Smart Good Things, Infinity Sports Water, Geekvape, PlayBetR, Volt or Big Cola have latched themselves to PSG.
