At one point this month, it seemed as if now-former Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Angel Di Maria would return to La Liga and sign with FC Barcelona. However, he is now inching closer to signing a free transfer contract with Juventus.
Di Maria’s agent, Lisandro Pirosanto, recently noted that there are only “final details” to be addressed in contract talks between the Argentine playmaker and Juventus.
According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, Barcelona president Joan Laporta ruled out the possibility of Di Maria becoming the latest player to sign with the club as a free agent.
Di Maria had spoken with Barca manager Xavi Hernandez about possibly joining the Catalan side, but in the end, Laporta has had the final say on this transfer matter.
Barring another major turn of events, Di Maria will sign with Juventus and play in Serie A for the first time in his career next season.
