When reports surfaced that Luis Campos would be coming aboard to Paris Saint-Germain and help the capital club build a squad that can be a contender for the UEFA Champions League yearly, the first transfer target that came out was Stade de Reims’ Hugo Ekitike.

However, it seems as though the capital club might miss out on the teenager. According to Foot Mercato, the French club is close to reaching a deal with Newcastle United for the striker.

The report states that Newcastle United and Stade de Reims have even reached an agreement for Hugo Ekitike around a sum of €36-million in addition to €10-million in attainable bonuses.

Nonetheless, there are still a few minor details to be settled, but it seems as though the deal is likely to get done. If Ekitike is the guy that they want to improve their forward group, then PSG might have to head back to the drawing board.
