Over the past few hours, the possible hiring of Zinedine Zidane at Paris Saint-Germain and multiple French outlets would suggest that a deal is in the advanced stages, even with the Ligue 1 champions coming out and denying any agreement.
Nonetheless, with the possibility of Zidane arriving at the French capital, RMC Sport reports that the midfielder Paul Pogba appears to be putting a halt to his decision as the 29-year-old is a soon-to-be free agent and has been in talks with Juventus regarding a possible return to Turin.
Pogba is a player Zidane adores and reportedly wanted at Real Madrid during his tenure with the Spanish club. However, it will be interesting to see how the dynamics of the transfer window occur.
Luis Campos is now the sporting advisor and doesn’t seem to have Pogba on his list of targets to improve the squad this summer. Meanwhile, the France international appears keen on playing for Zidane in his hometown should the French tactician should come.
Campos has full power, but if Zidane does arrive, that will obviously be shared, so the two men might have to discuss which players should and shouldn’t come as part of this new project.
