Ander Herrera is one of the players Paris Saint-Germain wants to offload this summer as they not only trim their squad but also begin a new era with Kylian Mbappe at the center of the project.
A recent report suggested that Herrera has a deal lined up to return to Athletic Club. However, the Spain international stated to El Partidazo de COPE (via Fabrizio Romano) that he has no intentions of leaving PSG despite his love for the La Liga side.
“I’ve lot of respect for Athletic Club and their fans, but I’m not gonna join them this summer,” Herrera said. “My plan is clear; I will 100% play for Paris Saint-Germain next season.”
PSG wants to trim its squad, and the 32-year-old is under the category of players who don’t have a significant role within the team and are on high wages. It will be interesting to see if Athletic Club or any other Spanish side expresses interest in the midfielder.
Antero Henrique returned to the capital club and is responsible for selling players who have no future with the French giants, and the Portuguese club chief could have it in his plans to sell Herrera.
