Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure at Paris Saint-Germain appears to be coming to an end as it’s only a matter of time when the announcement of his sacking becomes official.
The Argentine will likely need to begin the next phase of his career, and one recent job has seen Pochettino in the mix for the Athletic Club. However, Foot Mercato reports that the 50-year-old has no interest in the job.
Athletic Club is looking at candidates to replace Marcelino Garcia Toral, who left just a few days ago. The name of Pochettino was reportedly in the mix but also of Ernesto Valverde and Marcelo Bielsa.
For his part, the Argentinian is open to projects in England as elsewhere but wants a serious and long-term one.
It seems as though Pochettino wants a return to the Premier League, but with all the top six clubs having managers, he will likely have to wait on the sidelines until a position opens down the road.
