Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera is now the latest player to back Lionel Messi as the greatest player of all-time.
Speaking to the Spanish-based outlet AS, Herrera offered his stamp of approval to Messi as to being the “best” talent to ever play the sport.
“For me, he [Messi] is the best of all time, without any discussion,” Herrera said. “Now I admire him even more for how he manages his day-to-day life with total humility, always with a smile for the people.
“And Kylian can benefit a lot from Leo. He’ll put the ball in the right place and with his speed he will be one-on-one with the goalkeeper, where he’s lethal.”
After a historic run at Barcelona, Messi opted to join PSG over last year’s summer transfer window as a free agent. His first season at PSG provided him with a chance to bolster his already notable career resume, although this did not all turn out to be the case. The Argentine forward chipped in for a mere six goals in Ligue 1 play and did not score in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Real Madrid.
Messi will have an opportunity for redemption in the upcoming season, where PSG is slated to enter the campaign as one of the favorites to win the Champions League competition.
