When the first reports of incoming sporting advisor Luis Campos were coming out from various outlets, the first rumored addition that the Portuguese club chief would target for Paris Saint-Germain was Stade de Reims Hugo Ekitike.
Recent information suggests that Newcastle United had reportedly reached an agreement with the French club for the 19-year-old for a sum of €36-million in addition to €10-million in attainable bonuses.
However, France Bleu Paris (via Paris Team) reports that Ekitike did not say yes to The Magpies for a summer move to the Premier League. Furthermore, the French media outlet adds that the reigning Ligue 1 champions remain in the mix to land the teenager.
According to the details provided by the note, Ekitike likes Campos and perhaps is sold on his vision for PSG over the next three years, where the executive will be in charge of building the squad for Les Parisiens.
This past season, Ekitike appeared in 27 matches for Stade de Reims, where he scored 11 goals and recorded five assists.
