PSG Mercato: Paris SG Remains Apart for Inter Defender as Interest in Juventus’ €70M Talent Surfaces

The central defense appears to be a top priority for Paris Saint-Germain as Presnel Kimpembe and Sergio Ramos might not convince sporting advisor Luis Campos, considering the France international is inconsistent and who knows if the veteran defender might stay healthy.

Over the last few days, the capital club has been linked to Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, but the two clubs remain far apart on reaching a possible deal. Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports PSG has offered €50-million for the 27-year-old.

However, Di Marzio adds Inter Milan wants €80-million for the defender, who has one more year left on his deal. Nonetheless, it seems as though the French giants might not wait around.

According to Corriere dello Sport, PSG is one of the clubs listed with interest in Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt. The reason why the 22-year-old could leave Turin is due to the stalemate over a contract extension.

The Netherland international’s deal expires in 2024, but Juventus aims to extend him for two years, but also spreads the player’s wages of €8-million plus bonuses, making him the highest-paid of the squad.

However, De Ligt’s entourage wants to file down the release clause, which currently amounts to €125 million, destined to rise to €140-million next year. The defender’s representatives would like the release clause to be between €70-million and €80-million, but the discussion has also stalled on this point and is now struggling to take off.
