Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos is officially on the job and ready to begin shaping the squad into his vision. One of the targets that the Portuguese tactician eyes this summer is Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Campos is ready to splurge on Scamacca and offer €40-million to the Serie A club for the 23-year-old. The PSG club chief is convinced that the Italy international will be worth much more one day.
The bid for Scamacca is more than what Transfermarkt puts his value, which is €30-million. The young striker is coming off a 2021-22 season, where he scored 16 goals in 38 appearances for Sassuolo.
PSG needs to get younger at the forward group, considering last season Kylian Mbappe was the only player in his early 20s. Nonetheless, before the Ligue 1 champions pursue Scamacca, they might likely have to offload a couple of players, likely Mauro Icardi, to offset this purchase.
Les Parisiens is among the most interested in Scamacca, with the other most significant club being Arsenal.
