Every transfer window, there is one rumor that can come out of left field that causes many to scratch their head, and although the summer months are only beginning, the first one has surfaced for Paris Saint-Germain.
According to the Mirror, the capital club has formally approached Leeds United to sign midfielder Kalvin Phillips. The French giants have contacted the Premier League side to see how much it will cost them to land the 26-year-old.
PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos has begun molding the midfield in his vision, with the reported arrival of FC Porto midfielder Vitinha on a five-year deal. Nonetheless, it doesn’t seem as if the club chief wants to stop there.
Phillips would fill a need on the squad since his primary position is as a defensive midfielder. However, being an England international, it would be interesting to see how much motivation there is to head abroad.
Leeds United is desperate to maintain hold of the midfield ace but understands a proposal in the area of £55-million would be challenging to turn down. As for Phillips, he knows there will be guaranteed Champions League football and can triple his wages to £200,00-a-week.
