Although Stade de Reims striker Hugo Ekitike was linked to Paris Saint-Germain as one of the first transfer targets for incoming sporting advisor Luis Campos, they might have to scratch him off their list.
RMC Sport reports that the 19-year-old finally agreed to join Newcastle this summer, having refused the first offer from the Magpies this winter. The report adds that the two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee of €36-million plus €10-million in bonuses.
This past season, Ekitike appeared in 27 fixtures for Stade de Reims, where he scored 11 goals and recorded five assists for the Ligue 1 club. The teenager is one of the bright young players in French football which is why Campos was reportedly interested in him.

Outside of Mbappe, the capital club needs to get younger at the forward position with Neymar Jr. in his 30s now, and Lione Messi is turning 35 before the 2022-23 season begins. It will be interesting to see if Campos adds another forward as they’re set to miss out on Ekitike.
