Paris Saint-Germain has been linked to FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who sporting advisor Luis Campos appreciates. Nonetheless, if the capital club wants the 25-year-old, it will cost them a significant sum.
ESPN reports that Manchester United, another club connected to the Netherlands international, believes the Spanish side of jacking up the price on de Jong to solve their financial woes with one major sale this summer.
The information in the note states that the La Liga side is looking for €100-million, but the Premier League club’s valuation is closer to €60-million with add-ons.
Manchester United doesn’t want to pay more than what he’s worth, considering that Barcelona is actively trying to offload de Jong to raise funds to facilitate their transfer plans for the summer.
Reports linking PSG to the Dutch midfield have cooled in the last few weeks, and perhaps the reason for this is the Spanish side’s price for the player. Nonetheless, as things stand, ESPN states that Manchester United is the most viable option for de Jong.
