After a mere one season at Paris Saint-Germain, Georginio Wijnaldum could end up finding a new home in the coming months.
A report from Corriere dello Sport (via Le10Sport) notes that newly appointed PSG football advisor Luis Campos does not see that Wijnaldum fits into the club’s plans for next season.
Wijnaldum joined PSG from Liverpool over last year’s summer transfer window as a free transfer. He was slated to be a workhorse midfielder for PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino, but this did not necessarily turn out to be the case.
Wijnaldum ended up seeing his minutes dwindle as the season progressed. He earned three total starts in UEFA Champions League play and also started in just one out of PSG’s final five Ligue 1 fixtures of the campaign. This came as Pochettino slotted in the Dutch international to not only feature for PSG as a midfielder but also as a winger.
The Dutch midfielder has two more years remaining on his contract at PSG.
