Striker is a position Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos is reportedly keen on upgrading as the Portuguese executive eyes Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca. However, the French giants face competition for the 23-year-old.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via ESPN) AC Milan is motivated to complete a deal for Scamacca. Sassuolo wants a €40m transfer fee for the Italy international. However, that amount is reportedly too rich for the Serie A champions.
The Rossoneri are pivoting towards offering a player-plus-cash deal, including one of Lorenzo Colombo, Daniel Maldini, or Marco Nasti to secure the striker. AC Milan needs to get younger at the position after leaning on Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimović.
It will be interesting to see what the player decides to do, whether it remains in the Italian league or head abroad and join countrymen Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma in the French capital.
Scamacca appeared in 38 fixtures for Sassuolo, where he scored 16 goals this past season.
