‘On the Verge’ – Romano Says PSG Nearing Deal With Academy Jewel, Will Head to PSV

Paris Saint-Germain is close to reaching a long-term deal with one of their top youth products in their academy. According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, the capital club is ‘on the verge’ of reaching a full agreement with Xavi Simons to extend his contract.

Furthermore, Romano adds that the 19-year-old will head out on loan to PSV Eindhoven, where he will likely play starter minutes consistently rather than sporadically at PSG, which hinders his development.

It’s clear that sporting advisor Luis Campos values the young player and is putting his development ahead of anything else.

Simons would be heading to his home country, and PSV is known for developing young players, so it seems as though it’s a win-win situation for all parties.

Romano doesn’t state what type of loan deal this would be to the Dutch club, where there would be a straight loan agreement for the teenager or a clause would be attached.
