Newcastle United Receives a Transfer Boost as PSG Steers Away From €28M Starlet

Newcastle United might be given a transfer boost as Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly declining to continue its pursuit of Stade de Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, whose value sits at €28 million. The capital club will be on the verge of adding another striker to the squad this summer.

According to Le Parisien (via PSG Hub), the Ligue 1 champions have almost completed the signing of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca. However, even tho the club wants three new forwards, Hugo Ekitike isn’t expected to join.

Despite sporting advisor Luis Campos being keen on Ekitike, it appears as though the Italian forward will win out as it allows for Newcastle to secure the player possibly; however, the Premier League has issues with reaching an agreement with the 20-year-old over personal terms.

The English side has had an agreement with the French club for weeks but can’t find a middle ground with the player leading to the standoff. It will be interesting to see if Newcastle and Ekitike hash the situation out or if another team enters for the swoop.
