Messi Ranks Above Ronaldo and Lewandowski in an Impressive Goal Contributions Stat

Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi has been on top of his game for the last decade.

The Argentine forward did not have his best season over his debut campaign at Paris Saint-Germain, but he still managed to chip in for 25 total goal contributions in both Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League play.

Overall, Messi has recorded an astounding 446 goal contributions in Europe’s top five leagues since the 2012-2013 season. The likes of Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo (374) and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski (328) rank behind the Argentine in the top 10 of this notable leaderboard.

Messi simply had his way during his La Liga run while at Barcelona. For one, he became the first player in Spain’s top flight to record at least 20 goals and 20 assists in a single campaign, which he did so over the 2019-2020 season.

If Messi decides to stay put in Europe’s top five leagues past the 2022-2023 season, he sure will have a chance to reach 500 career goal contributions in league play.
