French Press Shares The Summer Transfer Budget for PSG

Paris Saint-Germain will hand incoming sporting advisor Luis Campos the keys to the transfer window this summer. The Portuguese club chief has the full power to mold the squad to what he sees fit. Now, the amount of money Campos will have access to might surprise some.

According to L’Equipe (via AS), PSG will have €80 million to invest in the next transfer window. The Ligue 1 champions won’t have a very high budget, but this amount could increase if they sell several members of the squad.

Players like Julian Draxler, Leandro Paredes, and Thilo Kehrer could be on the move, allowing PSG to raise its budget. Also, Campos is known for getting more bang for his buck, so the French club is hopeful he can find some of those talents.

Furthermore, of those €80-million, the French giants have already spent €35m executing Nuno Mendes’ purchase option and could spend up to €20m if manager Mauricio Pochettino is sacked.

Last season, Les Parisiens had losses ranging between €200 million and €300 million, despite having record revenues in 2021 amounting to €700 million. The new UEFA Financial Fair-Play will not affect PSG excessively since it will allow them to reach up to 90-percent of their income in wages.
