Former Chelsea, PSG Defender Undegoes Successful Bypass Surgery

Former Paris Saint-Germain defender Alex spent two seasons with the French giants, coming at the start of the Qatar Sports Investment era. The Brazilian was one of the first targets wanted by former manager Carlo Ancelotti during his stint with the Ligue 1 side.

Alex recently announced that he has successfully undergone a bypass operation in São Paulo. Additionally, Santos FC shared a clip regarding his recent health scare and denied any rumors that he had a heart attack.

The player confirmed in that same video that the intervention was a complete success and that he had already hoped that he could receive the news that he would be discharged in a few days.

Along with his time at PSG, Alex played most of his European at Chelsea from 2004 to 2012 before heading to the French capital. He played there from 2012 to 2014, then went to AC Milan and retired from football in 2016.
