Danilo Pereira Shares Takeaways of What It Was Like to Be Teammates With Messi This Past Season

Lionel Messi has had his fair share of critics for his roller-coaster debut season at Paris Saint-Germain, but from Danilo Pereira’s standpoint, he sees that the Argentine forward is still a world-class player.

Pereira recently took some time to speak to PSG TV to reflect on his second season at PSG, which included 27 appearances in Ligue 1 play. The Portuguese international also shared some takeaways from Messi’s first campaign at PSG, where he noted that opponents still must be wary when the forward is on the ball.

“When you give the ball to Messi, you know he’s going to do something special,” Pereira said.

Pereira also noted that Messi is a player who “can make the difference going forward,” and overall, it has been “easy” tagging along with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Barring any major moves in the coming months, both Messi and Pereira are slated to regularly feature at PSG in the coming season.

Pereira made history with Cristiano Ronaldo six years ago, winning the 2016 Euros. Now, he sure aims to enter the record books with Messi by winning the UEFA Champions League competition next year.
