The strike position appears to be one that Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos intends to upgrade this summer. The consistent name linked to the capital club is Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca.
Campos has been on the trail for the 23-year-old. Still, it has grown a little quiet considering the French giants need to offload players, primarily Mauro Icardi, before considering grabbing the Italian international.
However, waiting to see some players exit could complicate the situation, considering other interest clubs are ready to pounce on the player, including Atletico Madrid. According to El Mundo (via Foot Mercato), the La Liga side has not ruled out launching a pursuit of Scamacca.
Nonetheless, the Spanish outlet states that the Ligue 1 champions remain the favorite to land the striker, who has drawn interest from Arsenal, but with their reported acquisition of Gabriel Jesus, could be out of the running.
Last season, Scamacca appeared in 38 fixtures for Sassuolo, where he scored 16 goals and recorded one assist. When it comes to a possible transfer fee, Transfermarkt puts the striker’s value at €30 million.
