Paris Saint-Germain has their sights set on Lille OSC midfielder Renato Sanches, as they hope to beat out AC Milan to land the 24-year-old. However, the Serie A side isn’t giving up on this file without a fight.

Calciomercato reports that Milan remains confident that they can sign the Portuguese midfielder without increasing their proposal, which currently stands at a €4 million per year salary for Sanches and an €18 million fee for Lille.

The Italian media outlet adds that there are suspicions that PSG’s reported offer for Sanches has been formalized and submitted, leading Milan to think they still can pull off a transfer for the Lille star.

After losing on the Sven Botman sweepstakes as the defender is reportedly on the way to Newcastle United, the Serie A side understands that they need to wrap up deals to avoid allowing clubs with deeper pockets to swoop and take a possible target.

Sanches played last season in 32 fixtures for the French club, scoring two goals and recording five assists.
