The contract extension of Kylian Mbappe continues to be a topic of conversation in France. Last Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain announced that the 23-year-old would sign a contract extension keeping him in the French capital until 2025.
Many believed that Mbappe was heading to Real Madrid, but in a span of a few days, the momentum shifted to PSG, who were able to keep their superstar player for at least three more years.
During a segment on Late Night Football Club, Luis Ferrer, close to PSG and President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, revealed some of the negotiations in this case and the vital role of the Parisian president.
“The negotiations with Mbappe? What I can tell you is that there were two working groups. That of Nasser Al-Khelaifi and his team. And the group representing his family. I was with Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s group. So I was able to see two very high-level teams given their excellent work,” Ferrer said.
“Was it Nasser Al-Khelaifi who was driving everything? Yes and in relation to that, I would like to say something very important. I hear that there have been people from Qatar… I am very surprised that this kind of strong information. There is only one person who commands the football aspect at Paris Saint-Germain, and that is President Nasser Al-Khelaifi!”
