Video: Laurent Blanc Applauds Kylian Mbappe’s Decision to Reject Real Madrid, Stay With PSG

There are plenty of opinions regarding Kylian Mbappe’s decision to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and remain in the French capital. Some criticize the 23-year-old’s choice to stay home rather than head abroad to challenge himself.

However, former PSG manager Laurent Blanc is delighted to see Mbappe extend with Les Parisiens and predicts a great future for him. During an interview on Europe 1, the French tactician welcomed the France international’s decision to stay.

“I don’t know much about the man. He’s young compared to us. But even young he seems to me to be quite solid already because you have to be solid where he is. He has to be well surrounded but solid personally,” Blanc said.

Furthermore, Blanc added that it was a bold decision made by Mbappe to say he wants to make history in his hometown before he considers heading abroad in the future.

“I think he made a very courageous decision. He has the courage to say: ‘I stay in Paris, and I’m going to try to win the Champions League with Paris,'” Blanc added. “He could have gone to Real, but he’s still young. He’s going to go abroad.”

“He’s going to play for big clubs abroad, for the most big clubs in the world. But he says to himself: ‘I’m still going to try to win the Champions League with Paris’. I think that’s good. Let’s enjoy some more time having Kylian Mbappé in our league and seeing him play every three days.”
