Paris Saint-Germain is entering a new era this week as Le Parisien (via Paris Fans) reports that Luis Campos will officially take over the sporting director role with the capital club, signing a three-year contract.
The French media outlet adds that the final details are being ironed out, but when Campos comes aboard, the Portuguese club chief will be in charge only of the sports management of the first team.
Despite the power to the first team only, Campos will have complete control of appointing the next manager and the transfer window during his tenure. Campos’ goal this summer will be to change mentalities at PSG.
Nonetheless, Campos will have support from his fellow compatriot and former PSG sporting director Antero Henrique, who comes back into the picture, where he will need to sell off the players who have no future in the French capital.
According to Le Parisien, Sergio Rico (on loan to Mallorca this season), Layvin Kurzawa, Thilo Kehrer, Abdou Diallo, Leandro Paredes, Ander Herrera, Danilo Pereira, Gana Gueye, Julian Draxler, and Mauro Icardi are potential candidates.
