Report: PSG Transfer Target Turns Down the Interest from Manchester City

Paris Saint-Germain will be keen on drastically improving its midfield this summer. In recent years, the capital club has brought in players, but none have been up to par with the talent of Marco Verratti, and when he’s not there, then the makeup of the squad is drastically changed.

As a result, PSG is reportedly in on Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, who will exit Old Trafford next month and become a free agent. However, a recent report suggested that rival Manchester City was hoping to secure the 29-year-old.

However, The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that this possible switch will not happen after the 29-year-old midfielder opted against joining City, instead favoring other clubs. The report adds that Pogba’s representatives have already informed the Premier League club about his decision.

Pep Guardiola is seeking a replacement for Fernardinho, who will also be leaving this June, and was reportedly looking at Pogba as a target to take over the 37-year-old’s spot on the squad.

Nonetheless, Pogba is reportedly looking at clubs outside of the Premier League as Juventus, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain are the favorites to land the France international this summer.
