The Kylian Mbappe contract extension was the first step in making overhaul changes at Paris Saint-Germain. With the 23-year-old now under contract until 2025, the next step was to find executives who could mold the squad into one that can consistently compete in the UEFA Champions League.
Luis Campos appears to be the guy ready to take over the sporting director role that has been vacated following the reported sacking of Leonardo a few days ago.
According to L’Equipe, the former sports adviser of AS Monaco and Lille OSC will join PSG on a three-year contract and should be announced next week at the latest.
Campos has already had several interviews with president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Although he hasn’t been officially announced, he’s already underway working and analyzing the squad ahead of the summer transfer window.
He will also bring Olivier Gagne, the former coordinator who had worked with him at Lille, to his side. Campos is someone that Mbappe trust to build a squad that will allow them to have a balanced team and return to the Champions League final.
