Paris Saint-Germain is slated to soon sign Nuno Mendes to a permanent transfer deal, and the club will save a bit in the agreement with Sporting CP.

PSG’s deal with Sporting CP last summer saw the Ligue 1 powerhouse sign Mendes to a one-season loan agreement for a €7 million fee. The agreement also included a buy option that was rumored to be set at €40 million.

However, as noted by the Portuguese-based outlet Record, the buy option is rather set at €38 million, so PSG club officials will end up saving €2 million for the signing of the promising full-back.

In the big picture, PSG has yet to officially announce that it will sign Mendes to a permanent transfer deal, although this is slated to come over the upcoming summer window.

Mendes featured in 27 Ligue 1 matches this past season, which included 18 starts. The versatile full-back also notched a tackles per match average of 1.8 in league play.
