Kylian Mbappé’s decision to extend with Paris Saint-Germain means significant changes are coming to the capital club. The 23-year-old wouldn’t commit to remaining in his hometown unless the sporting project shifted to where it would allow the team to build a squad to win the Champions League.
The first major changes coming will be to the front office, with the France international staying; Le Parisien (via Paris Fans) reports that manager Mauricio Pochettino and sporting director Leonardo are on the way out.
Furthermore, Mbappé wants to bring in someone he can trust to build the squad the right way and see them contend for the Champions League. According to ESPN’s Julien Laurens, former AS Monaco and Lille OSC club chief, Luis Campos, is the favorite to land the job when the Brazilian is fired.
Campos has the connection with the forward, so he has the stamp of approval. The Portuguese club chief also has an eye for talent in Ligue 1, and many hope that he could take advantage of the players the league produces.
