PSG Mercato: Paris Could Make a Push to Sign a Coveted Inter Milan Midfielder If Conte Replaces Pochettino

The rumor mill has been churning as of late over Mauricio Pochettino’s long-term future at Paris Saint-Germain. The Argentine manager has a mere one more season remaining on his contract, and there continues to be outside chatter that he will be sacked at the conclusion of the Ligue 1 season.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has been linked as a possible contender to replace Pochettino, and if such a move comes to fruition, the Italian coach could then push to reunite with Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet Tuttosport (via Le10Sport).

The report adds that Inter Milan club officials see that Conte would do what it takes to bring in Barella should PSG hire the current Tottenham manager.

Barella featured under Conte during the Italian manager’s coaching tenure at Inter Milan and also emerged as a reliable base midfielder in the club’s Serie A-winning campaign last season.

PSG was linked with Barella during the 2020 summer transfer window but ended up looking elsewhere for midfield reinforcements.

Barella has four more seasons remaining on his contract at Inter Milan.
