Angel Di Maria has exited Paris Saint-Germain, and the player that the capital club is eyeing to replace the 34-year-old is FC Barcelona Ousmane Dembélé.
The 25-year-old’s contract expires next month, and despite being cited as a club interested in the France international, the incoming sporting director isn’t sharing that mutual feeling.
Le Parisien reports that the winger was a file pursued by former sporting director Leonardo, who is no longer on the job. Luis Campos, meanwhile, doesn’t see the Barcelona player as one he’s keen on adding this summer.
According to the report, two reasons why Campos cooled on this file are due to Dembélé’s physical fragility and his adaptation to the Parisian context. The Frenchman has often been criticized for his lack of requirements for a top athlete.
The report adds that Campos likes workers, high-potential elements, who think football before anything else. As a result, another attacker is thus targeted by the Portuguese club chief to replace Angel Di Maria, but his name has not yet been filtered.
