Paris Saint-Germain is about to hire Luis Campos as their sporting director and will have complete control of the transfer window this summer to build the capital club into one that can challenge consistently in the UEFA Champions League.

Campos taking over the reins at PSG could result in him perhaps taking a look at players he has a connection with in the past during his stints at AS Monaco and Lille OSC.

One player that reportedly is linked to PSG is Arsenal’s Nicolas Pépé, who could be on the move this summer. Campos had the 26-year-old at Lille, so it was no surprise that a rumor of Pépé’s agent possibly offered the winger.

However, the Arsenal forward’s agent, Luis Ferrer’s agency, went on Twitter to deny any reports indicating they were looking to reunite Pépé with Campos in the French capital.

“Our player Nicolas Pépé has never been offered to Paris Saint Germain,” the agency tweeted.

Pépé has struggled in the Premier League, scoring 27 goals and recording 21 assists in 112 appearances since joining The Gunners in 2019. The Ivory Coast international is under contract until 2024.
