OGC Nice Manager Galtier Details Just What It Would Mean for Ligue 1 If Mbappe Decides to Stay at PSG

OGC Nice manager Christophe Galtier is now the latest coach in Ligue 1 to advise Kylian Mbappe to stay put at Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Lille OSC manager recently took some time to speak to L’Equipe, where he touched on just what it would mean for both French football and Ligue 1 if Mbappe opts to put pen to paper on a contract extension deal.

“We need him in Ligue 1,” Galtier said. “His presence at PSG can allow Paris to win the Champions League and he to win the most beautiful trophy. Mbappe is courted by the biggest clubs in the world. I hope he will still be with us next season. It would be good for the Ligue 1, for PSG and very good for French football.

“When we play against him, it’s always difficult but it’s also a real pleasure to see him play. When he scores against us, we are disappointed, but not more. I’m a bit of a fan, it’s true.”

Mbappe is set to become a free agent at the season’s end, which will grant him the opportunity to leave PSG as a free transfer. As of late, the rumors linking Mbappe to Real Madrid have ramped up, which include one report noting that PSG sees that the French forward is on the verge of signing a free transfer agreement with the La Liga side.

For now, the wait continues on just when Mbappe will publicly announce his final decision on this matter.
