Lionel Messi’s goal-scoring woes continued during Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Troyes on matchday 36.
Messi earned a start in the contest as a central attacking midfielder in PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino’s 4-2-3-1 setup. The Argentine forward went on to record one shot on target and also hit the woodwork twice.
Overall, Messi has hit the woodwork a total of 10 times in Ligue 1 so far in the campaign, which is the most such shots recorded by any player in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
