Paris Saint-Germain maintained its unbeaten streak at home following the Ligue 1 fixture against Troyes on matchday 36, although it came away from the contest with a 2-2 draw result.
Goals from Neymar and Marquinhos opened up a 2-0 lead for the reigning Ligue 1 champions, but it all fell apart from there. A goal from Troyes striker Ike Ugbo coupled with a penalty score by midfielder Florian Tardieu in the second half knotted the match up at 2-2, which turned out to be the final result of this encounter between the two sides.
In speaking after the match (via Prime Video Sport France), Marquinhos offered his reaction to the draw finish, where he noted that PSG simply does not have anything to play for anymore this season.
“We started well, having control in front and not being in danger at the back,” Marquinhos said. “It’s the details that make the difference in the outcome. We don’t play much now, and we are champions. We are just trying to have fun and win the game to end the week peacefully.
“We didn’t win at home, but again I think we had control of the game and tried to do something. The result is just not the best it can be, that’s clear.”
Much has been talked about on whether PSG would at the least remain motivated to finish the league campaign on a strong note, especially after it clinched Ligue 1. Overall, PSG has secured three straight draw results.
