How PSG Can Ruin Real Madrid’s Summer Transfer Plans

Paris Saint-Germain recently shocked the world recently by convincing Kylian Mbappé to sign a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2025. Now, another highly-coveted Monaco man could choose PSG over Real Madrid.

Aurélien Tchouaméni is the hottest transfer target and is reportedly interested in leaving the casino-laden land of Monaco for either Real Madrid or Liverpool where he could presumably play bitcoin casino with his new salary. However, with Mbappé now secured and a new sporting director in Luis Campos, PSG is recruiting Tchouameni aggressively and could change his mind.

These three clubs went to battle over Mbappé. While Liverpool was a distant third, there is certainly bad blood between Madrid and PSG. Los Blancos have now been turned down three times by Mbappé and this latest time, they thought his signature was a sure thing.

Liverpool is certainly much more in the running for Tchouameni, but should the 22-year-old choose PSG over both clubs, it will be a major blow to the ego of Real Madrid who for years have gotten their way when it comes to transfers.

It will be utter humiliation for Real Madrid to lose out on easily the two biggest names available this summer and despite playing in a UEFA Champions League final, it will be a setback for a club that has an aging squad.

For PSG, signing Tchouaméni would double down on the ripple effect already caused by Mbappé staying in France. Keeping a French star in Ligue 1 only makes the league stronger and is another blow to La Liga, which is struggling to find that marquee player they can market their league behind.

It also means PSG would have filled a major need in their squad. This past season, PSG’s midfield was not up to par with the elites in Europe. Outside of Marco Verratti, the midfield for Les Parisiens struggled to maintain possession and create scoring opportunities for the likes of Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr. The result was a very boring brand of football and even in the French league, where PSG is expected to dominate, they struggled against teams with physical midfielders who could overrun and hassle players like Danilo Pereira, Ander Herrera, Leandro Paredes, and Idrissa Gueye.

That won’t happen with Tchouaméni. He is a physical midfielder with a tireless work rate. He has also shown an ability to get forward and score. He has all the tools to be a world-class midfielder and that’s exactly what PSG needs to take its squad to the next level and win its first Champions League title.
