Video: Jorge Sampaoli Explains His Plan to Stop Kylian Mbappé Ahead of Le Classique

The latest installment of Le Classique will occur Sunday night, and for Olympique de Marseille manager Jorge Sampaoli, he’ll need to find a way to contain Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé.

In his last two Ligue 1 fixtures, Mbappé has scored five goals, so the Argentine tactician will have to draw up a defensive game plan to limit the damage the 23-year-old can do. At his news conference, Sampaoli was asked about what his squad plans to do to stop the France international.

“Mbappe? I had the opportunity to face him in the World Cup too; then he came here with PSG. With all the quality players he has around him, he’s an almost impossible player to score,” Sampaoli said.

“He makes differences in spaces, with the ball, at the finish… you have to have a very good collective game against him because individually, it’s almost impossible. We’re talking about a player who can do the difference against any club in the world.”
