Report: The Reason Why Neymar Will Not Play in PSG’s Ligue 1 Away Fixture Against Angers

The Ligue de Football Professionnel Disciplinary Committee has handed out a one-match suspension to Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, the governing body announced on Wednesday.

Neymar earned a yellow card during PSG’s Ligue 1 away fixture against Clermont Foot, which was a contest where he chipped in with three goals. Under LFP rules, a player who receives at least three yellow cards over a 10-match span is subjected to being suspended for one fixture.

After being issued a yellow card in the Ligue 1 fixtures against Nantes, AS Monaco and Clermont Foot, Neymar will now have to sit out a match this season.

As this sanction will take effect beginning on April 19, the Brazilian international will at least be available to feature in the league home encounter against Olympique de Marseille on April 17.

Neymar has so far featured in 17 total league matches this season, where he has tallied for 10 goals and four assists.
