Report: Kylian Mbappé to Spurn Real Madrid and Remain at PSG

For the last few months, it seemed as though it was a matter of time before Kylian Mbappé would depart Paris Saint-Germain, especially after the capital club crashed out in the UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid.

Furthermore, the Spanish media are convinced that the 23-year-old will be heading to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. However, RMC Sport’s Daniel Riolo stated on his After Foot RMC show that Mbappé will stay at PSG and sign a new contract.

“The only interest of this end of the season at PSG is to know what Mbappé will do,” Riolo said. “I know it; the only question is when it will be said. It will be more in May; it can be further postponed to finally say that he will stay, and then you have to know when the extension will be announced.”

Should Mbappé decide to extend with the French giants and spurn Real Madrid, there’s no doubt that there will be demands that the forward will have to improve the squad.

Le Parisien (via Foot01) adds that preferential scheme with two attackers, as with Karim Benzema in the France national team, even if it means letting go of Neymar Jr. and/or Messi to make room for players capable of better adapting to this system.

Without asking for the head of Mauricio Pochettino or Leonardo, Mbappé asks for sporting certainties and also a change in behavior, which may very well cost the head of the Argentinian or the Brazilian.

The second layer is the financial proposal from PSG to Mbappé, which could be the subject of a short-term agreement, likely being a two-year contract offer, with a salary of €50-million a year and a signing bonus of €100-million.
