The discussions surrounding the future of Kylian Mbappé continue to heat up. With the June date, which signals the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, there’s plenty of speculation and reporting concerning the issue.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the capital club continues to hold out hope for a contract extension with the 23-year-old. Meanwhile, on their end, Real Madrid remains confident he will join the Spanish club on a free transfer.
Nonetheless, the report also adds that PSG is dangling a hugely lucrative shorter-term extension in front of Mbappé and disputing that, at the age of 23, he can join Los Blancos later in his career.
Les Parisiens are open to both a two- or three-year renewal, even if the France international would not necessarily fulfill the entirety of the deal if he stayed.
It will be interesting to see if these next few weeks whether the French giants can do enough to show the forward that they’re serious about building a complete squad that can win the UEFA Champions League.
