PSG Officially Rules Out Eight Players for the Ligue 1 Away Fixture Against Angers Due to Injury

Paris Saint-Germain will have the chance to clinch the Ligue 1 title on matchday 33, but it will have to do so without multiple key talents.

Ahead of its league away match against Angers, PSG ruled out eight players due to their respective injuries.

After a strong run of performances in Ligue 1 play, Lionel Messi will not feature in this contest due to a left Achilles tendon injury. The Argentine’s status for the home fixture against RC Lens is currently up in the air, as he will be evaluated in 48 hours.

PSG midfielder Marco Verratti will also not play on matchday 33 due to a minor left knee injury. As with Messi, Verratti will be evaluated in 48 hours.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino will also be without Ander Herrera (hamstring), Layvin Kurzawa (calf), Julian Draxler (right knee), Leandro Paredes (groin), Abdou Diallo (right knee) and Presnel Kimpembe (right knee) due to their respective injuries. At the least, both Herrera and Kurzawa are slated to return to training later this week.

PSG aims for a fourth straight win in Ligue 1 on matchday 33.
