PSG Mercato: Paris Keeping Tabs on a Promising Serie A Midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has garnered much outside criticism as of late over the inability to revamp the midfield with promising youth talents. Now, he is reportedly eyeing a coveted Serie A midfielder.

According to the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Le10Sport), PSG is showing an early interest in Salernitana midfielder Ederson.

The report adds that PSG could muster up a €26 million fee to acquire the 22-year-old Brazilian talent.

Ederson joined Salernitana over the recent winter transfer window from Brazilian powerhouse Corinthians. He has so far appeared in seven matches over the second half of the Serie A season, which include appearances against the likes of Juventus and Inter Milan.

Ederson has not emerged as a go-to playmaker for Salernitana, but he has been a workhorse midfielder this season. For one, he has notched a keen 1.7 tackles per match average in league play.

The Brazilian talent has four more seasons remaining on his contract at the Serie A side.
