Neymar made it three straight matches with a goal for Paris Saint-Germain after he scored in the 2-1 Ligue 1 home win over Olympique de Marseille. PSG midfielder Marco Verratti assisted Neymar in the opening half of the contest, as the Brazilian tallied his 11th total goal of the league campaign.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino has been much pleased with the recent performances of Neymar, which he touched on to Prime Video Sport France after the win against Marseille.
“Yes, in the last few games, he’s been making great progress and getting better and better,” Pochettino said. “I am very happy with his work and his commitment. He is very involved. He’s incredibly talented. He has done a very good job.
“It was not an easy season for him to manage, between the Copa America which deprived him of preparation, and then his injury. He tries to give his best and he proved it with his performance tonight.”
Neymar has now chipped in for seven total goal contributions ever since returning from international duty with the Brazilian national team last month. He currently sits at 15 total goal contributions in 18 league matches played in the ongoing campaign.
Neymar sure is doing his part to salvage his season, especially after he failed to score a single goal in six UEFA Champions League fixtures played and logged a mere three goals scored in the first half of the Ligue 1 season.
