Pochettino Drops a Major Hint on Plans for PSG’s Coveted Prospects

Paris Saint-Germain’s coveted prospects have not featured much as of late. For one, Xavi Simons has not played in a fixture with PSG since its Ligue 1 home win over Rennes in February. More so, Edouard Michut has appeared in five total minutes in league play over the past two months.

However, this may all change quite soon.

In speaking to Prime Video Sport France following PSG’s Ligue 1 home win over Olympique de Marseille, manager Mauricio Pochettino noted that once the club officially clinches the Ligue 1 title, he may opt to provide some of the team’s prospects with crucial playing time.

“For the moment, it is not done (the title race),” Pochettino said. “15 points is good, but we still need one more game. It will probably be difficult, but it is an opportunity to launch some young players for the future of the club, it is important for them as well as for Paris.

“It will give them the opportunity to get minutes in Ligue 1. It will be important to keep them motivated in many ways.”

Overall, PSG prospects such as Simons and Michut could have their opportunities to shine against the likes of Strasbourg and RC Lens.
