Kylian Mbappe has been orchestrating a standout campaign with Paris Saint-Germain this season, which has caught the attention of former Portuguese forward Pauleta.
In speaking to PSG TV ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Olympique de Marseille, Pauleta was asked on which current talent on the team has impressed him the most. Even as PSG has the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar on its roster, Pauleta instead singled out Mbappe.
“Today, it’s very difficult not to talk about Mbappe, a young Parisian with enormous talent,” Pauleta said. “But I don’t like talking about individuals. For me, what counts is the team, the squad, the technical staff, the fans. The most important thing is Paris Saint-Germain!”
As mentioned, Mbappe sure has taken his game to another level this season. Not only does he lead Ligue 1 in goals scored with 20, but he has also notched a league-leading 14 assists, which is one more than teammate Messi.
Mbappe is now set to feature in PSG’s upcoming home league encounter against Marseille. A crucial showing from the French forward in this contest could go a long way in whether PSG will end up coming away from the match victorious.
