Kylian Mbappe was the star of the show in Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-1 home win over Lorient in Ligue 1 play. Mbappe scored a pair of goals, and he also played the role of playmaker, as he recorded three assists.
After the match (via L’Equipe), Mbappe was asked whether he is currently playing at his highest level in his career so far. Overall, Mbappe is simply pleased that he played a crucial role in helping PSG come away with a decisive home win in Ligue 1.
“I don’t know, I’m in a great moment,” Mbappe said. “I still have the same mentality, the same goal: to help my team win. I think that’s what I did. I was in a collective state of mind and I managed to be decisive, so it’s a great night.”
Mbappe has now logged 17 goals in Ligue 1 this season to go along with a league-leading 13 assists. The 30 goal contributions rank him at the top of the leaderboard in Ligue 1 this season.
It is not likely that Mbappe will reach 30 goals scored in Ligue 1 this season considering that PSG has a mere eight matches remaining on its league schedule. Still, he has what it takes to total for 40 goal contributions in the campaign.
