Leonardo Discusses the Future of Kylian Mbappé at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain clinched their tenth Ligue 1 title in their 1-1 draw against RC Lens. The capital club has put a bow on their 2021-22 season, leaving many angry and upset despite the accomplishment.

For the remainder of the season, the rumors regarding the future of Kylian Mbappé will be front and center as the 23-year-old has yet to decide where he’ll play next season.

Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, spoke with Canal Plus (via Canal Supporters), where he provided a comment regarding the extension talks with the France international. Furthermore, the club chief also confirmed recent discussions in Qatar.

“Discussions have always been present. There are discussions in Doha. Nasser was not here today. You know how important it is to him. But tonight, it was really impossible for him to be there. If there wasn’t something important for him to be there, he would be there,” Leonardo said.

“Kylian, he speaks, he speaks with us. What he says is the truth. He hasn’t made his choice yet. I think there is a possibility that he will stay. There is also the possibility that he leaves, but I think he is still in a reflection.”

Real Madrid remains confident that they’ll come away with Mbappé when his contract expires in June. Nonetheless, nothing is yet determined as the forward is pondering his decision and waiting to see if PSG does indeed make any changes ahead of the summer transfer window.

If the changes don’t satisfy Mbappé, he will likely head to the Spanish capital.
