Video: ‘You Can’t Cut’ – Mauricio Pochettino Wants to Avoid Thinking About Real Madrid Ahead of Nice Match

Paris Saint-Germain has their biggest game of the season thus far this week when they travel to Santiago Bernabéu Stadium for their second leg of their UEFA Champions League Round 16 matchup against Real Madrid.

The capital club will head into the Spanish capital with a 1-0 lead. However, before they get to that match, PSG will face a formidable opponent on Saturday night against OGC Nice.

During his press conference, manager Mauricio Pochettino was asked whether his squad is thinking ahead to the showdown with the Spanish giants.

“In football, you can’t cut and press the on or off button. When you disconnect, it takes time to reconnect, and it’s difficult to reconnect with the game. If you disconnect, you can take a card, lose a ball. The lead in the league is also a motivation because we want to maintain it and take the three points,” Pochettino said.

“We have to be competitive and focused on Saturday’s game out of respect for the competition and for Nice too. The best way to prepare for important matches in the Champions League, the competition everyone is waiting for here, is to be focused all the time.”
