Paris Saint-Germain will be heading into their UEFA Champions League second leg matchup against Real Madrid with a loss. The capital club could not crack OGC Nice, who kept them from scoring and scoring in the final minutes of the second half.

Following the loss to Nice, Thilo Kehrer spoke to PSG TV, where he stated that the squad had difficulty putting forth the final pass or movement that would have allowed them to score a goal.

“We had a little difficulty finding the last pass, the last action to be really effective and score,” Kehrer said.

“I think that if we managed to open the scoring, there would have been a good chance that we would come in with the 3 points, and this is not the case. We are disappointed. But we are already focused on the next game. I think there are still positive things to remember.”

Kehrer went on to add that PSG did control most of the game, as possession would show, but gave credit to Nice’s defense for the performance.

“We controlled the game. Nice, at home, it’s simple, they have the best defense in Ligue 1, and we knew it would be difficult to find space and create chances. But I think we built the game well, we arrived in the last quarter of the field, and we lacked a detail to be really effective,” Kehrer said.

“But there are other things. We defended well on the counter-attacks. We left one, not well defended, and they score. They were 100% effective because they didn’t have many chances other than on goal. But we still keep things positive, and we keep a positive attitude for Real Madrid.”
